This tour rates are available only for those are also buying the Macuco Boat Safari tour.
The tourist that visits the Iguassu National Park, can now count on a new attraction - an optional adventure that complements the already renowned Macuco Safari Boat Excursion.
With a duration of 30 minutes, the descent through the rapids is made in inflatable boats propelled by oars and captained by licensed professionals associated with the Brazilian Confederation of Canoeing.
Operation
The visitor who opts for the rafting descent, is instructed by the coordinators of the operation while still on the docks. There they receive all the necessary equipment (special life-jackets which differ from the model utilized on the regular Macuco Safari boats, and a helmet). Following this, the passenger embarks on the conventional boats and takes the normal route, including the baptism in the Three Musketeers Falls.
On the return trip, in a calmer area near San Martin Island, the Macuco boat approaches the rafting boat and the passenger is transferred to begin the descent through the rapids.
Training
The new activity has been coordinated by Massimo Desiati, a professional with a lot of experience in the field and a 4-time Brazilian rafting champion. It was Desiati who coordinated the canoe trails in the 1994 World Nature Games. Desiati works with professionals hired for the activity for three months. Besides training in operations the guides/pilots also receive security training.
