Day -
Amazon Ecopark Lodge

While the schedule of activities is always subject to variation due to weather, water level and other factors, there are generally two different activities included each day, generally early in the morning and later in the afternoon or evening. These are the times when wildlife is most active (we recommend you lay low during the mid-day sun, as the wildlife does!).
During the course of your stay your guide will arrange the specific scheduling of your excursions. Activities include: exploration of the jungle and its tributaries (the flooded “igapos” and “igarapes”) by canoe; trekking along jungle trails to learn about the unique flora of the region; spotting wildlife in and around the lodge; meeting the local inhabitants (“caboclos”) and learning how they live from what the forest provides; spotting alligators at night (your guide will try to catch one for you to examine) and even an afternoon of piranha fishing!

A trip will also be made to the unforgettable Meeting of the Waters, where the fast moving black waters of the Rio Negro meet the slower brown waters of the Rio Solimões meet to form the Amazon proper. These two waters run together for miles without mixing as differences in speed, temperature and composition keep them separate. It is an amazing spectacle to behold.
A mid-morning transfer back by regional riverboat to Manaus will take you to the airport in time for your flight home.
