For 20 years Aranda Orquídeas is accomplishing an intense work of research and development of new species of orchids. Aranda Orquídeas also invests in the preservation of species threatened of extinction. During this time, the results of the effort in research, development and preservation was widely recognized by many customers: studious and orchid lovers, decorators, architets and all the ones who appreciate the nature.
Aranda Orquídeas offers a large selection of Brazilian species and Cattleya hybrids which are produced from excellent stock plants.
The plants are raised in two separate locations within the famous Organ Mountain range. Teresópolis is situated at 900m elevation and the favourable intermediate climate is perfect for cultivating a wide selection of species. The nursery is nestled in a beautiful valley and the breathtaking scenery makes for a pleasant drive up the mountains. Guapimirim sits at the base of the mountain and experiences warm to hot weather throughout the year. The large greenhouses contain a good selection of Cattleya hybrids and warmer growing species.
Over the years Aranda Orquídeas has become known for the quality of its Cattleya species and a number of plants have granted awards around the world. Our Samba hybrids have gained a fine reputation and are often featured in important local shows. Parent plants have been carefully selected in order to ensure superior progeny, raised in our laboratory in Teresópolis.
