The Serra dos Orgãos National Park is one of the most preserved areas in southern Brazil. The origin of the unusual name Serra dos Órgãos (the Organ Hills) is credited to early Portuguese settlers who thought the ensemble of the hill tops resembled the organs in European cathedrals. The park is located among the cities of Teresopolis, Petropolis, Magé and Guapimirim, having a total area of 10,500 hectares.
Approximate duration: 3h00.
