The Canto das Águas Hotel takes an active and creative stance, not only in welcoming their guests, but also by embracing all that surrounds us - both the natural and human environment. The aim is to integrate the hotel with its surroundings, in an attempt to make it not just better, but also more equitable and more caring. This is reflected in all the actions that involve the hotel, in a continuous process of improvement. These improvements include using clean solar energy to heat the hotel water, separated collection of solid waste, and the use of wood from reforestation projects or the reutilization of wood from delition sites.
It is their concern to care for the precious resources found there: the water, the ecosystmes, and the town in which them all live, so that the Chapada will continue to be the wonderful place that it always has been. Within these three spheres lies the enchantment of the nature and the commitment to help in the preservation.
For all that the Canto das Aguas just received the ABNT certificate as the First Brazilian Sustainable Hotel!
Located on the shores of the Lençóis River, Hotel Canto das Águas, owned by Carlos and Yasmim, combines charm, good taste and harmony with the Chapada Diamantina nature - a scenery of impressing canyons, valleys, waterfalls, caves and fields. Along the rocky river-bed, the inn was conceived for minimum interference with the local landscape: the gardens and inner courtyards evoke the Chapada wild flowers, the staircase resemble the river rocks themselves, and even the swimming pool was thought as a typical rapid from Rio Lençóis.
