Proposal
 
1 Day - Salvador

Arrival in Salvador airport, welcome and transfer to the hotel.
Check-in and accommodation.
Around midday departure for lunch followed by an historical city tour.
You will have lunch in the historical centre and then visit the Pelourinho, a recently restored district considered the soul of the city. It is in this shimmering universe that Jorge Amado inspired himself for his main stories.
You will also visit the church of São Francisco, the richest in gold of this country.
Late in the afternoon return to the hotel.
Dinner at Barravento Restaurant located in Barra district.
Overnight at the hotel.
 
2 Day - Salvador/Cachoeira/Salvador

Brazilian buffet breakfast.
You will leave the city behind and drive through the oldest farmland in Brazil. Only 110 Km from Salvador the enchanting city of Cachoeira rests along the banks of the Paraguaçu river. Handcrafts, dining and folklore make Cachoeira a unique city. Along the way we will visit a Cigar Factory, a sugarcane plantation, CEPLAC (cocoa research center) and also have the opportunity of visiting a fruit open-market. Return late night to Salvador.

3 Day - Salvador

Brazilian buffet breakfast.
In the morning you will leave for a full day unusual discovery of the city.
You will stop at the Mercado Modelo, ancient customs building located closeby the harbour. Today it shelters an important handicraft market. Stop at the market São Joaquim. This great fair is a huge market for local products.
Visit of the church Bonfim, the most characteristic of the religious syncretism, which is held here. The church is dedicated to Jesus and also considered as a cult place of Oxala, the supreme god in the Candomble of Bahia. It’s here where the little lucky ribbons are blessed.
You will cross the districts of the Alagadas; these townships on stilts shelter a big part of the unlucky masses of the city. Continuation until the district of Cabula for lunch at Paraíso Tropical Restaurant. The restaurant is also a raising centre for combat roosters. You will taste only farm products. The dessert is a festival of tropical fruits.
In the afternoon return to the residential districts along the beaches, stop at the shore of the sea to enjoy a fresh coconut under the palm trees.
Late afternoon return to the hotel.
Bahian dinner at Mama Bahia Restaurant, at the Pelourinho.
Overnight in the hotel.
 
4 Day - Salvador

Brazilian buffet breakfast.
Morning visit to Liberdade district and to Afro Ilê Ayê group project and school. One of the project members will make a speach explaining about their project and the Afro-Brazilian Society. All the aspects of this culture are shown here, from the African and Portuguese origins until the artistic and religious movements that characterise it today. Your guide will translate it.
Visit to the Afro-Brazilian Museum.
Lunch at Senac Restaurant followed by a visit of the museum of the Orixas. This is where we get to know the deities of Candomble, animistic religion from Africa and often compared to Voodoo.
Late afternoon return to the hotel.
Dinner is on your own.
Night transfer to Terreiro, a cult place of Candomble where we meet the Mae de Santos, the female priests who are in charge of the relation between humans and the spiritual entities.
Overnight in the hotel.
 
5 Day - Salvador

Brazilian buffet breakfast.
Morning Afro-Brazilian percussion and dance classes at the Pelourinho.
Return to the hotel.
Check-out and transfer to the airport.
